HISTORY

Hotel Boutique Castillo Rojo is an exclusive luxury hotel, located in the very center of Plaza Mori, in the heart of the Bellavista neighborhood, famous for its live music, theaters, restaurants and lively nightlife.

The hotel is located one block from the Pablo Neruda House (La Chascona), Patio Bellavista, the funicular that takes you to the top of Cerro San Cristobal, minutes walk from the Baquedano subway, downtown, the Fine Arts Museum and the Central Market, and only 20 minutes from the international airport.

From here, you can visit the tourist cities of Viña del Mar and Valparaíso, as well as the vineyards, which are located in the Casablanca and Maipo Valleys, just an hour and a half from the hotel, as well as ski resorts half an hour from the hotel.

The iconic Castillo Rojo was originally built in 1923 by the aristocratic Lehuedé family (you can see photos in the hallways, including the owners’ wedding, held in the castle itself). Later a Russian writer bought it and when he died he left it to his housekeeper, who, unable to pay all the expenses, rented it for pieces, which served as a meeting place for artists, both Chilean and foreign.

In 2010 the current owners bought it, and the remodeling and restoration took 3 years. Opened in May 2014 as a Boutique Hotel, with original furniture from those times, fireplaces and restored woodwork, with lighting and design elements typical of the style of the 1920s.

Themed rooms, most of them with decorations from the former house, for example the kitchen, the game room, etc.

Decorated by the Grisanti – Cussen studio.

Hotel Boutique Castillo Rojo features 31 thoughtfully designed rooms in Classic, Queen, Suite, and Premium categories, including our new Premium Double Queen rooms, which accommodate up to 4 guests — ideal for families and groups of friends seeking more space and comfort.

Each room preserves the elegance of our historic 1920s building, while incorporating modern comforts such as air conditioning, private bathroom, high-speed Wi-Fi, 500-thread-count linens, and breakfast included. The hotel also offers private parking, subject to availability. Some rooms include a balcony, patio, or accessible features, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay for all our guests.

It also has a Lounge and Bistro Restaurant.

We invite you to step back in time to experience the elegant style of 1920’s Santiago.
